15 Parent Reviews for Cumberland Valley High School

I graduated from CV this year and as I look back on my four years at this high school, I can say that I have had a great time have learned so much. The academics are wonderful and the students are very intelligent. This enviroment helped me to achieve much more than I would have, had I attended another ...  Read more

This school is not as good as it thinks it is. The district is very poor at communicating with families and very unwelcoming to families moving into the area. They do a poor job with the gifted program and has nothing to brag about.

This school's facilities are top knotch. The hallways are wide, the floors tiled beautifully, and the auditorium and sports fields rival those in many colleges. Cons: Academically, this school is not nearly as competitive as it would like you to think, especially for advanced students. Although there ...  Read more

I am graduating in 2010 from cumberland valley and have been in this district since kindergarden. The sports in my opinion are phenominal. We have some of the best athletes in the area. And as for the size, it really dosen't bother me. The numbers sound huge but you dont even notice it. All of your ...  Read more

I'm in the class of 2008 and like the previous poster I'm a military brat and I moved to CV after sophomore year. The academic programs are such a joke, and students who move to the area from other high schools will realize as much. The school and surrounding community value homogeneity (athletes) and ...  Read more

I graduated from CV in 2004. I was moved there just after my sophomore year at another high school. It's a difficult school to assimilate into if you come from a background that has nothing to do with farming, or don't take lots of drugs. Most of the technology classes are a joke. I grew up a military ...  Read more

I graduated in 2005. I remember a lot of students getting caught up in the school politics (school board, new rules, etc.) without much being changed as a result of them making a fuss. There were a lot of different course offerings. I took programming classes, good English classes, and more advanced ...  Read more

As a parent, I find this school to cater to athletes and the remainder of the students are numbers. The attendance system is dysfunctional marking students absent when in school, losing absent notes, resulting in students being sent to the court system with no recourse available to the parents to ...  Read more

I think this is a wonderful school. It has basically every opportunity a student could ask for. The teachers are very supportive and don't label you the bad student or good student. The guidance counselor help more than the counselors at any other school would. They treat your children as if they were ...  Read more
