Malvern does not offer Athletic scholarships. The reason for the high level of athletic success is due to exceptional coaching and not recruitment. Malvern does offer academic scholarships and they are determined by the child's score obtained on the admissions exam. We send our son to Malvern for
... Read more the academics and the mission of the school. It is a sacrifice for us to send him but worth it. We plan to send our younger son too, if he is accepted. Having had a child go through our high ranked local public school system too, I am able to evaluate both, but not compare - not in mission, academics, or spirituality. Not worth the investment. Too much emphasis on sports and not enough discipline. Why is an 'elite' college prep school recruiting for sports? If we had to do it all over, it is a good chance that our boys would be somewhere else. For what it has turned into, it is not much different than an Archdiochese

I had siblings that attnded Malvern. They both loved it and are at fantastic colleges. It's great that they do have some very good sports teams. They're very lucky to have the ability to have such great athletic facilities such as a pool, tennis, squash and basketball, they also have various fields.
... Read more My brothers were very hard working and came out with good grades. They also were star athletes on both of their sports teams(both different). From their expierences at Malvern, they have been led onto great things and know how to handle themselves in difficult situations. Theyre academics are great, parents, gatherings and teachers all really care. My mother will speak very fondly of this school and my father would too, he's a graduate. Malvern was a great place and they teach you what you need to know for your expierence in the world. Read less

We had the opposite experience. We have been there 7 years and have had a great experience. Academics are high with many AP courses, discipline and honor is abundant, and we are non-catholic. Homework is challenging. Teachers are engaging and well trained. There are students that go to the Ivys with

The quality of the academic programs at Malvern Prep is at best poor. We found that the majority of the program focused on sports. English reading was well below grade level. There was also an obvious discipline problem within the school. Many of the students were left unattended and sometimes hurt.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
