My son just finished his Kindergarten year here. I am happy to report that my son can read an entire beginners Dr. Suess book, write wonderfully, learned how to add etc etc. I am very happy with schools programs and the teaching staff were excellent. We moved from Queens and to this school district

I would not recommend this school. I had a bad experience with the teachers and principle at this school. Once I got into the next school up which was Dingman Delaware Elementary school, then they started to work and try to help my son rather than label him as a bad kid. It was not until he was in

We've since moved from this school district into another state and it's amazing how a school's administration and dedication make a difference. I am in agreement with one of the parents that your child has to conform. Also if your child had a hard time adjusting to anything they will hold it against them forever, even if they are doing better. Some teachers are great, but others feel there job is only to teach the kids 8-4 and can't even call

My son started kindergarten this past year. He never went to day care, preschool or participated in a pre-kindergarten class so this put him as a minority in that respect. He was taught at home by me. The beginning of kindergarten was an adjustment for him. His teacher is wonderful. She is strict
... Read more but compassionate when needed. She is open to communication at anytime. I became the 'class mom' and had the opportunity to work in the classroom. My son will be leaving kindergarten with the ability to read short stories. They also learned to do simply addition and subtraction. My son loved kindergarten, but hated first grade. I was not allowed to volunteer in the classroom, and my son began having problems with reading and language arts. He did poorly on the dibels test. There didn't seem to be anyone addressing his needs. It was suggested in October that he be retained,

We found that the class rooms were small enough to tend to the kids needs and questions, without having to rush them through
... Read more the daily curriculum that the teachers had to comply with in order to cover everything that the school district demanded of them. The students are encouraged to ask questions and work with the other kids, instead of sitting in the corner, possibly loosing the opportunity to identify a problem early in the stage. First signs of any weaknesses in a subject matter is quickly identified by the teacher and related to the parent with options to improve on these areas. Great Schools lead us here and I have not yet regret making the move. Read less

Academically, socially, and otherwise the school appears to be excellent and doing its job of educating children. Advanced Placement
