Our family started at Montgomery in the fall of 2009 and currently have children in 3rd grade and K. I cant believe most of these comments. Our two kids graduated 4 and 6 years ago. They both attended great Main Line Private schools. I could cry at the difference between what my kids could have achieved and experienced that they did not at this small school. NEWCOMERS, check out the excellent schools

I could not say better things about The Montgomery School. I am a parent of a fourth grader (2013/2014 school year). We started in second grade after my daughter complained of being bored in her public school and not showing to be the engaged, highly personable, dynamic girl at school as she was at home.
... Read more My daughter wasn't interested in going to school and I knew she would lose her interest in learning if I didn't make a change. I was hoping an independent school, with smaller class sizes and more individual attention, was the answer. As soon as second grade started at Montgomery, my daughter instantly became the same girl I experienced at home. She loves school so much and is so engaged again in learning (which is fun and SHOULD be fun for children) that the last day of school in June has been her saddest day. She honestly does not want the school year to end and eagerly waits all summer for the first day of school. The aspect at Montgomery that I had not anticipated to have such a positive effect on her too was the students participation in weekly chapels. She has spoken in front of an audience with great enthusiasm and ability that I know will be indispensable to her future. Read less

Hi, I am a recent grad of Montgomery School who went there for eight years. I am writing this comment in response to a one star review posted that mentions "a history teacher that makes it up". I do not know who you are, but I can assure anyone who may be reading these reviews that the person who wrote
... Read more about the history teacher is completely and utterly misinformed, and lacks a true understanding about what goes on in the wonderful middle school history classroom. This history teacher knows more about history than pretty much everyone I have met. In the classroom the students are encouraged to have open discussions about whatever topics we are covering and this truly enriches the students knowledge of the subject. It is not just history we learn in the class, we also learn how to debate a topic and how to write convincing statements to prove what we are trying to prove. This history teacher also makes bonds with all of her students and is very involved with them in an extremely positive way. I am currently at The Haverford School in Haverford Pa, and although the history classes there are great, they just cannot compare to the classes I had at Montgomery School. Read less
