Like any school, there are good teachers and there are not so good ones. But Warrenton seems to have gotten lucky - most of the teachers are very involved in the lives and educations of their students. ... Read more Rod Hyen, knows how to balance discipline with support, and he has shaped the school into something to be proud of. Violence is almost a complete non-issue, and the students are mostly involved in their education and respectful to others. Overall, it provides a great small town education. Read less

I go to Warrenton High School and from the student's pioint of veiw, there are a lot of things that could change. Personnally, I struggle with the workload sometimes. ... Read more helps a lot. Maybe in the future, we could switch to that. The principal, Rod Heyen, is very involved in all activities at school. He is at every home game and he even helps students who are struggling with homework. When a new teacher comes, he takes each of the students aside and asks them how hard the homework is, how much time we are spending on it, etc. and I have personally benefitted from this. There is a new principal there for 2005-06, Mr. Heyen, and I am favorably impressed. My child had a problem with one of his teachers and the principal handled it fairly and wisely.

I am a 2004 graduate of Warrenton High School. My career there, has been a good one. Ms. Pettit came into a school that already had problems, and she tried to fix them. She was the most involved principal that I have ever had. The only people that had problems with her, are ones that didn't follow

I do agree though, that the 7 classes a day, all year long was a bad choice due to the fact that it was a work over load, and that you couldn't take 2 math classes in a year to get what you needed to graduate. I disagree with one of the last reviews. Warrenton High School's principal did not provide severe consequences for all students. Only to the ones who didn't follow the rules. She was involved in all student activities, and helped many of the seniors on to college. If you had ISS or a detention, that
... Read more was the students fault for getting tardies, not the principal. WHS offered scholarships to my student, through Scholarships Inc., which allowed you to apply to dozens in one application. This is a great town to raise a child, if they are involved in the right activities, and you as a parent, are active in their education. Read less

This school used to be a great fun place to learn. I really looked forward to going to school here. But that all stopped when they switched the block scedual to a 7 period a day all year schedual. Since the principal got there there has been nothing but sever consequences for all students at Warrenton
... Read more High. Not very many students are up to there full potential and are struggling to meet the standards provided by the teachers. My oppinion in this is things need to go back to the way things were before. 4 period days, A/B, And a new principal, if that were to change back, the school would really have no problems. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
