I believe Stayton High School offers many great opportunities for students. I do not put a whole lot of stock into these other reviews with students complaining about a lack of programs to get involved in. Don't try to ask for $40 million to put a band-aid on your problems just to blow that and need more in 5 years from now. Maybe try to save us all some money by building a school that has already been built by another school district. That will save us millions in engineering and architect fees. Read less

... Read more basic school rules are not enforced, and teachers are unable or unwilling to even enforce rules on the dance floor. While SAT scores have remained more or less the same, state testing scores have been slipping. If I could afford it, my kids would be going to Regis. Read less

Read more art programs receive much praise,while others such as the welders and wood-workers seem to be looked down apon.The SHS sports program is very strong,if you're interested in football or basketball this schools for you.Both of these athletic facilities are impressive,and have always been very well taken care of.After all,they are the pride and joy of our school.This past year our bond didnt pass,with our budget hurting,roofes leaking,and ceilings colapsing,we still have the money to keep the important facilities up.Luckily this year the asbestos was taken out, but our student and academics really a priorety?As a student I dont feel like we are. I recently moved to West Salem, and had the decision to make of which school to attend. As amazing as West Salem High is, I couldn't imagine not graduating from the same school my dad did. I have had four children attend Stayton High School amd every one of them havegraduated with flying colors. They complaines like every teen in school, but they do not regret anything about that school. Thank you SHS!

I just graduated from Mari-Linn Elementary School and for the most part I think it's a great school. In the seven years that I went there I recieved a lot of ono-on-one attention from many of my instructors which helped me to achieve honoroll GPA's. The principal shows great interest in her students
... Read more and staff and is very friendly. One of the great things about small schools is learning to build close relationships with many people. The thing that I dislike the most is that the enviroment is mainly set for an elementary school and is often discouraging to the older students. Though it is both a middle and elementary school in comparison to other schools it's more elementry which I believe sets back the older students and leaves us unprepared for the highschool enviroment. Advanced Placement
