I have been going to Knappa schools since I was in the sixth grade. I love this school so much better than Astoria. Mainly because it is much smaller. The sports are fun especially when you come out onto the basketball court and you see pretty much all of Knappa squished there. I would choose this school

Knappa High School has a good variety of classes to offer the students given its small size. It could improve on the elective choices to meet the needs and interests of the students. Sports are big in Knappa and they are supported well by the community. As a parent I find the students to be respectful,
... Read more caring, and supportive of their school. Parents are supportive of their kids whether it be at an athletic event, chaperoning a dance or helping with a fundraiser. I am pleased with our current principal (Mrs. Hagen). I feel she relates well with the students and staff and is fair with her dicipline. The teachers overall are doing a good job in the classroom. They can also be seen at extracurricular activities and are involved in our community. Read less

Knappa school has some advantages like strong banking and sports but most students I speak with say they think their techers could be more friendly and give less work. teachers often give work just to keep students out of the way.

Knappa High School is a great school in a tight-knit community. The class sizes are small enough to give students a good amount of personal attention. My daughter graduated from KHS two years ago and I have a son who is a Junior. I have found that the teachers care about the students and go the extra
... Read more mile to meet with them before or after school to give extra help. The teachers also do a good job of communicating with parents and responding when we call with questions or concerns. The students of KHS all get along well together and quickly accept newcomers. The whole community seems to come and support the school sports teams. This is a great boost for the athletes. This school is a good school if you choose to have a great opportynity at sports. However, if you wish to get an excellent education, Knappa may not be for you. Knappa has a good agriculture program, woodshop, spanish and accounting programs. I would highly recommend you go to this school if you choose

* In 2007-2008 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
