I am a student at SAHS and I can say it is the best school. Everyone is appected without rejects. Alot of people say its a terrible school in sports and eduation and that WAHS is better, but really it isnt. Yes we lose alot of our games and WAHS wins but we keep trying and no matter what we always get

... Read more of HS for a couple of years, how caring & relational the staff & admin truly are. Still, to this day, whenever I see a staff member they always come up & ask me how I am doing. It's amazing to me that they remember me & care enough about me to see how my life is going. It makes me very sad to see how the city of Albany has allowed this great school to be labeled in such a negative light. I hope my kids get to experience that. Read less

South Albany is one of the greatest schools out there. It has an open campus which offers a college like setting. The teachers and staff are amazing and all of them know your name and if they don't they try their best to learn it. Academics are great. But it would be nice to have a bit more variety

I see that the principal of the school is sports oriented and gives more time and attention to the sports programs than other programs such as the band and speech/debate teams. My child is in both and the school does not help financially with the speech/debate team. This seems to be a nationwide issue,

* In 2007-2008 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
