9 Parent Reviews for Highland West Junior High School
This school was the main reason we pulled ours out to homeschool. My husband and I both attended this school, and its sad to see how bad its gotten. This school needs a change in admin. We were given the excuse that there is so much diversity in this school that its just hard for them to control the

I spent a whole year being given one excuse after another for the bullying, and the lack of supervision during lunches etc. A police officer is on grounds at all times, and its not for the safety of the kids, But one officer cant keep all the kids that want to learn, safe from the even more amounts of kids that do not care. Parental involvement is slim to none. I would not recommend going here until major changes happen, and rules are enforced. Read less

I attend this school and I think it's great. You can tell the teachers are putting as much effort as possible into the students learning. I think they need to restore or utilize the ZAP program so parents will be aware if their kids are falling behind, and focus on programs which builds kids' self-esteem, instead of sports or 'popular' activities.
