In my opinion that is due to generally poorer-quality teachers and to administrators who fail to deal effectively with the worst teachers. ALSO, BE WARNED: THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH SCHOOL VIOLENCE IN LAWTON. The schools rarely expel even very violent kids, and it can make the school experience really awful for others. The school board & district leaders are a sort of typical small-town 'clique' who stick together, not bad people, but complaints are generally useless. Read less
