As a parent I just attended a meeting for the middle school parents where the principal of the nearest Catholic High School came to talk about how well the students from St. Brigid did when they moved on to high school. It was impressive. Their average ACT and SAT scores were much higher than state
... Read more and national averages. He stated that all passedd the OGT tests scoring in the accelerated levels and most follow the honors track when they enter as freshmen. Impressive!!! I have been very pleased. I also don't understand why the ratings at the beginning of this site only have 3 stars for extra curricular activities. The school sponsors volleyball and basketball programs for girls and boys from 5th grade on. They offer a terrific honors art program after school. Boy Scout and Girl Scout programs are strong. As a parent of 3 graduates of St. Brigid I couldn't be more pleased with a school. When compared with other public schools in the area, St. Brigid offered to all their students field trips, art experiences, science courses etc. that were only offered to the Gifted in the other schools. When my children

St Brigid is a small school where the teachers know all the pupils by name. The school stresses the importance of family values. It is a modern facility, with a large gym, library, art and music rooms. The whole school is networked with with new desk and laptop computers. The teachers really believe
... Read more in their kids and it shows in the grades! There are regular field trips and visiting authors, artists, musicians that stimulate the learning experience. While the school does not provide a lot of extracurricular activities, it does involve the students in groups that play sports, etc. Parents are very involved in the school and its activities. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.

English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
