Being both a graduate and teacher in this high school (as well as other schools) I can agree and disagree with the other reviews. Going into college I felt like I was fully prepared in the English and Language Arts area. Mrs. Iris Wheeler had me fully prepared in composition and speech. There are a few

Most teachers are willing to help you if needed, but it seems like there are alot of 'free days' given. As for the problems of rudeness to others, that starts at home before they get to high school. Piketon High doesn't have half of the problems that schools in larger cities do. The 'violence' in this school is nothing compared to elementaries in Columbus. I feel that Piketon High School is a big joke! The principal here does nothing about discipline problems. When I was a student there I had to deal with harrasment issues. I also had to deal with fellow students throwing food at me in the lunch room, while a teacher stood near by and watched and did nothing
... Read more about it. i had to deal with name calling. When i talked to the principal he told me that he would have teachers watching so this would no longer go on, but do you think that happened? NO! I was constantly humiliated! The only time I was happy was at home with my family. I felt as though i would have a mental breakdown. I then started to have attendance problems and my grades started to slip when previously i was a honor student. I didn't let this stop me. I graduated with honors! I am a teacher AND cheerleading coach for the high school cheerleaders. The cheerleaders received $7000 from the board for a trip to Orlando, FL.
