What no one will tell you: you could do better for your son. Let's get this out of the way: yes, many of the brightest white boys in "Greater Cleveland" go to Ignatius. No girls are admitted. Some of those boys go on to professional success. That's not a surpise: if you start with 300 smart boys each

That said, MANY more of those boys than you would expect flunk out or transfer out of college in the first year. Bullying and intolerance is the norm. Check out the only review on yelp for a more thorough analysis. The primary goal of this school is to get each boy enrolled in the most prestigious university possible. Actually identifying a vocation, personal development, or where and what he should study, is not a priority at all. Ignatius routinely hires uncredentialed former students with zero teaching experience, or teachers who have had "problems" at another institution. The "service" is a required class during sophomore year: a required course is not the same as actual volunteer work. Excellent. I have two sons attending and one who will be attending in a year. I can not praise this schools enough. The boys just love attending and have no problem spending extra time there because our residence is some distance away and transportation getting to and from is some times difficult.

... Read more of the 'jug', which is a 'time out' loaction at th school where students spend time in the event of a violation of a scool rule. Students get along well with each other and support one another. There is strong school spirit in both athletics and academics. St, Ignatius has carried out a tradition of excellence and challenge since its founding in 1886. I would highly recommend St. Ignatius to any male student who can and will meet the challenge. Without question, one of the best private boys' high schools in the country. This school has produced many topnotch athletes, political leaders, professionals, and clergymen. The tuition is higher than most other Catholic high schools in the area, but definitely worth the price. St. Ignatius lives

My son graduated from St. Ignatius last year and has gone on to college. I can honestly say that college is much easier for him than it would have been if he attended a public school. I didn't get to take many vacations, but this was money well spent indeed!
