... Read more schools for our 'pre-K through 6' grades. To make matters worse this campus is located in a very bad neighborhood. The AACS could not pass the levy for new elementary schools until they promised us new schools in our neighborhoods. Well, now that the levy finally passed, the school board with the help a few vocal teachers switched the plan to campus-style. So, I guess this is a farewell to Plymouth Elementary and it's excellence in favor of mediocrity for all. Read less

Although I disagree with this method of teaching and testing, our government has chosen this way to rate the level of education offered our youth. I think it is a shame that the school board is moving ahead with the campus style elementary. In my opinion it will undo the good this group of teachers

The parent involvement at the school may seem low but when 2 parents have to work to maintain a decent lifestyle, they cannot be involved at the school. The students are where they are though because those parents have made sacrifices and choices along the way to offer their children the best level of education possible. ... Read more the back burner in order to study for the state testing. I wish our schools could get back to teaching instead of teaching kids how to take the state test. Our school system is planning to build new elementary school, campus style, but in a bad neighborhood. I feel the campus style could be a good thing. Hopefully, this will allow our children to be taught at their level not the class average level. Parent involvement is low. The same parents are volunteering. Parents need to get involved for our kids to exceed in life. Read less

We have had seven children attend Plymouth Elementary. Our youngest is currently entering the fifth grade. The school does a good job overall educating all children. However, due to the pressures of State testing, some projects and programs have gone by the wayside. I think the learning environment
... Read more could be better if these projects and programs were reinstated. We need to make learning an exciting adventure so that all students are on-fire to learn. It only takes a few small changes to make learning fun for all. Goal setting and charting their results will encourage students to achieve. Read less

Plymouth Elementary has been our four children's school since 1996. We have seen MANY great things take place during out time at this school. However, the stress for the state report card score has become overwhelming. The teachers seem stressed out and the students are pushed to their limit. The
... Read more praise in the building is shallow and weak. I would like to see a more rounded approach to a child's learning. The state report card is only ONE indicator of a child's development. Read less

... Read more and for a couple extra classrooms. the school is so small even with about 200 students it is overcrowded for its size. For the school being so small it does offer music and sports programs. the parent involvement is not what it should be. It is the same parents who volunteer every time for any function because they do not want to see the children penelized for the lack of willingness or caring of the other parents to put forth the effort to volunteer or help. * In 2007-2008 Ohio used the Ohio Achievement Test (OAT) to test students in grades 3 through 8 in reading and math, in grades 4 and 7 in writing and in grades 5 and 8 in science and social studies. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
