Read what parents are saying about Robert Louis Stevenson SchoolRobert Louis Stevenson School is nothing short of amazing and our savior. Our son was slipping through the cracks of 'normal' schools. An otherwise very intelligent child, but with incapacitating anxiety that was being fueled and amplified in large, cookie-cutter, institutional systems. RLS has challenging academics, great and caring teachers and clinical physiologists. They are uniquely capable and set up to deal with highly individualized needs to ensure the success of their students. The Parent connection/communication is also fantastic and helps ease the family through difficult times.
Posted by a parent on 1/29/2018Robert Louis Stevenson School saved my son. Prior to Stevenson my son suffered from debilitating anxiety and depression. Now he loves going to school and is excelling academically and socially.
Posted by a parent on 9/16/2017Clueless school. Ok if you're very rich or very poor (only then will they cut you some slack). TERRIBLE facilities, not worth a tenth of the tuition. Class syllabi are ancient, teachers are tired.

This is a school for gifted/bright kids who can't tolerate what is now called learning in the public schools. It is small, intense, challenging, and about as close to college as you can get. The emphasis is on the person and learning rather than grades. Great fun lively and enriching environment housed in a brownstone!
Posted by a parent on 10/13/2014Absolutely terrible school. They claim to be "therapeutic" and yet caused me more damage while I was there than I had arrived with. I'm now a Sophomore at NYU and completely happy with my life, but it took me years of therapy to deal with the abuse that I endured while I attended RLS. Do not send your children here.

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is in Grade 2 and has been attending PS 87 since Kindergarten. Her teachers have all been phenomenal, each in their own unique way. My daughter is getting an education on the level of a private school, with the added benefits of economic and social diversity. I've dropped by her class a few times now and the kids are attentive, and well behaved and creativity is encouraged. It's also a good cohort of kids - I am not aware of any issues with bullying. The afterschool program is excellent as well. My daughter loves going to school. It's a huge weight lifted to know that she's happy and well cared for.Parent Review9mo ago - Rodeph Sholom

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe School of the Blessed Sacrament (SBS) is a hidden gem in the Manhattan’s private schools panorama. We transitioned to the school during Covid, from another private school, and found professional, welcoming, caring and nurturing staff who focus on preparing the students well academically, while ensuring they also grow personally and emotionally, with strong ethical values and academic achievements. The ELA program is very strong and encourages the growth of young readers, promoting independent reading throughout the school week either at school, in class or in the new libraries at both campuses and at home. The math, science and robotics programs are excellent and the new labs in both campuses complement them very well. All of this combined with art, music and theater programs help the students discover what their passion is and become rounded young adults. The improved lower campus and the new Barry upper campus, with its unique and focused upper school experience which prepares students well for high school and beyond, provide good premises for the students, which include secure outdoor space that can be enjoyed daily, weather permitting. A good variety of after school activities to choose from, as well as a summer program, are extremely popular among students and families. SBS also has a strong and committed PTA that, among other things, helps, with its constant successful fundraising efforts, to continuously improve the two campuses and the quality of the students’ and teachers’ lives at school. The Alumni group is active, and facilitates the alumni community to keep in touch with the school and the Next Gen of SBS alumni. Thank you SBS for your positive impact on our child and our family! We are glad to see the school, its faculty, students and the SBS community is growing and constantly striving to improve!Parent Review6mo ago - Manhattan Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe head of the elementary school has is responsible for the destruction of her previous school. She is a person who easily gets on a power trip and turns throws others under the bus quite easily. She probably shouldn't be in a leadership position.Parent Review3mo ago
