I really enjoy the small size school. I like it when I have to pick up my child early, and the staff knows right where to find my child. There is no looking up name lists or room numbers. I know for a fact my child is somebody in the school, not just a number. I believe the teachers give it their all
... Read more with their students! I do wish there were more choices of sports for the students. I have confidence that my child will not get lost in any system because of the small class sizes. This is a huge comfort zone for a parent. There is always opportunity for parent volunteers, the number one way to stay involved with your childs education! Read less

... Read more decided what to do about it, which was very encouraging. The school was responsive to my concerns and re-evaluated our sons academic needs. Together we decided to place him in the first grade, where he is being challanged and engaged at just the right leval. THe administration was open to my input, rather than condescending or defensive. The teachers are a mix of veterans and newbies, all dedicated. Classrooms have computers, there is a good, though not full range of extracurricular activities. The academic needs are well met. Manchester-shortsville Central School District (red Jacket)
* In 2011-2012 New York used the New York State Assessments to test students in grades 3 through 8 in English language arts and math, and in grades 4 and 8 in science. The results for English language arts and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles and the science results will be added when they are released in the Fall of 2013. The tests are standards-based, which means they measure how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New York. The goal is for 90% of students to meet or exceed grade-level standards on the tests.

AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
