20 Parent Reviews for Prince Of Peace Regional School
Strong academics and a warm, family environment makes this the school for our children. We planned public school in our very good district, but we decided to give Prince of Peace a try as our local school was not offering aftercare then (Prince of Peace does). What a wonderful experience it has been.
... Read more My children have made great friends and are so happy with school. The work can be challenging, but the children learn to work hard to succeed. There is a good variety of field trips, advanced academics, extra help for children requiring it, and a full complement of specials classes (art, music, etc.). The middle school sports program is also wonderful. The school has a very active and dedicated group of volunteering parents, and terrific activities that raise funds while providing fun. The principal is actively involved in all aspects of the school--including staying late for meetings, concerts, and school events. While no school is perfect, Prince of Peace is full of special people and high standards. We cannot imagine being anywhere else. Read less

What a wonderful education my children are receiving at Prince of Peace. The administration and teaching staff have provided the academic excellence and moral community in which my children thrive every day. We are so blessed to have a place where our children are welcomed and known by all that enter

Please note Prince of Peace has an Open House this weekend, and the previous post is very suspicious, trashing a previous Open House at the beginning of the weekend of the next one. The poster says he/she pays the Principal's salary, but does not send her children to the school (so how does she pay?)
... Read more and only was in the school for a hour or two during an Open House, he/she claims. I would never feel that I had any amount of sufficient knowledge to post a review on any school based on only an Open House visit and not sending my kids there, but this poster does not have a problem with that. This poster was so scared by an one hour open house experience that she had to come back six months later and post about her grief? Please recognize this post for what it is. Prince of Peace is a great school where my children are flourishing. It is a great community and we are lucky to send our kids there. Al the parents make sacrifices to send their kids there, and when you have kids coming from a sacrificial environment at home it is refelctive in the culture and makes for a special school. Read less

Very happy with Pre-K through 1st grade so far. Wasn't going to post but read some of these negative reviews and thought they were very unfair. They seem more bitter than helpful. The Principal works very long hours, always accessible and very dedicated to the school, and more importantly the students.

Have heard nothing but good things about the new teachers that came in last year when the Diocese offered early retirement packages to current teachers across the Diocese. Prince of Peace was the perfect choice for my son. His classroom size is small (only 16 kids), the teachers are professional and helpful, and he received needed speech therapy services at the school during the day without any problem. The assigned homework is challenging, yet not overwhelming. There

I have a son who has attended Prince of Peace for the past six years. From his first year ,where he greeted his teacher every day saying "I love coming to school", until the present, he has always been enthusiastic about going to school. The work has increased each year to include enough variety of

All the functions I've been to have many volunteers helping, and are always well attended by students, family, friends, and staff members. Whenever I've attended these functions, been to conferences, or volunteered at a the school (field trips, lunch duty etc.) I've always seen a lot of enthusiasm by everyone involved in the school. I whole heartedly recommend to school to anyone. Read less

Beware! This school is run by controlling parents who bully until they get what they want without regard to anyone else who volunteers for the right reasons. There is no mandatory vaccinations for our children's protection, which brings people into this school for all of the wrong reasons. Not only
... Read more is there an issue with parent bullys but their children are also bullys. The principal is not a strong leader. She knows the problems exist but sweeps them under the rug. The kindergarteners are not supervised when they exit the buses into the parking lot where cars are pulling in and out for those who are dropped off by their parents. With such a bullying problem in existance, why would a principal allow these students to remain in a classroom with limited supervision for a full hour during lunchtime? I was extremely happy with the teachers and the academics provided. I would be more happy with more sports and activities offered. And until I had any problems I thought this was the perfect school for my family. Beware if you need any problems adressed because your on your own!!! Read less

I have three children of varying abilities, all of whom are either in Prince of Peace now or graduated from the school recently. The academic standards are high and children are encouraged to maximize their potential, whatever it may be - within a caring and nurturing environment. The education they

My oldest has attended the best Catholic high school on LI and my second child has also been accepted to start next year. Having had my oldest child experience both Sayville's grade school gifted program (while still at Prince of Peace) as well as the public middle school, for a year, I know my child was well ahead of what was being taught in the public school. It was my child's choice to return to Prince of Peace after the year in public middle school and we have never regretted that decision. Is it perfect? No. No school is. But, having also seen and personally experienced the school deal with the natural problems, conflicts and tragedies that comprise real life, I know that our school community is the best place for my family to be. Money well spent! Read less
