Not all children get the same support or encouragement- such as invitations to address the public at 'Open House.' Sadly, school has annually underestimated the potential of graduating minority students. Comments heard 'I don't think your child can get into THAT school' or 'not the Right fit.' Our family has been at Buckley for sixteen wonderful years. Our two oldest now attend an excellent college thanks in part to the challenging curriculum and caring faculty at Buckley. Our youngest has literally grown up at Buckley and considers it a second home. He has benefited from the tremendous dedication
... Read more of an outstanding faculty and has made numerous friends from varied backgrounds that have enriched his life considerably. In addition to the extensive curriculum, Buckley gives each child an education beyond the books by encouraging competitive sports, community service and awareness of current events which help them to understand the part they play in this world of ours. I would not trade one minute of how we have been enriched as a family over the years. ... Read more considers her Buckley foundation to be what has made the difference for her: study skills, rich curriculum--no comparison to public schools! Now my son is there too, and while a completely different kid and student, (struggles a bit...), he is getting fabulous support from truly dedicated teachers who go the extra mile for him every day and really care. They are master teachers, and great role models for my kids. We chose BCDS over some well rated public schools in our area, and don't regret it for a minute. Read less

OMG i am student at the school and I LOVE IT! Okay sure uniforms, but still the teachers there are great i have trouble choosing my favorite one! Homework is a downer but A. that is every school and B. after ctps (some type of state test or something????) after we work hard we play hard. on that friday

Buckley is place where children truly flourish. Children bring in live pets for show and tell, recycling day celebrated the earth, world heritage day allows all the children to share their family heritage as does international dessert day. This is a place where as a parent I always here the happy chatter

My child attended Buckley and being of African American decent I didn't feel comfortable. Teachers have no idea how to deal with the attitudes and behaviors of minority children. Buckley allows for children to grow in self esteem and confidence. Children are allowed to feel freedom of discourse among a group of intellectuals. Respect among peers and teachers is paramount. Guidance in self study and rigorous academic success is nutured and rewarded.

AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
