I have been at Trevor since 4th grade and could not be happier. Trevor's environment and social welcoming is unlike many other Manhattan private schools. The teachers are extremely approachable, technology and arts are very strong, and the student body is without doubt one of the nicest and most nurturing

My child attened the lower school. What a horrible school it was. The head of the lower school is clueless about responding to the needs of the students, teachers and parents. I am so glad our child transferred to another school where the child's learning comes first and the family is respected.

Our child, entering high school this year, has been at Trevor since starting school twelve years ago. Trevor is probably much like, and in many ways, superior, to most other independent schools. Trevor promotes a collegial atmosphere between students and teachers, and prepares students well to handle

As for falling behind academically, the curriculum becomes increasingly sophisticated and challenging at each grade level. Eighth grade assignments included reading the Science Times every week and reporting on one of the articles; an exemplary History course included weekly rigorous reading and writing assignments. Our child's recent SSAT scores were 800 in verbal and in the mid-700s in math & reading. Read less

Trevor students are self-disciplined, intelligent, witty, and socially conscious (Trevor is the only school in the AidsWalk'07 top 20, beating scholastic, CBS, and Kraft.) TDS is very fast paced and self motivated, and students who understand this responsibility do best both academically and socially.

Academically, TDS really has it together. Language, English, History, Science and renowned, math weak in comparison but getting much better. Extracurriculars are copious, and taken seriously. Arts program, A+. The most important thing I learned at Trevor was that learning happens everywhere. Trevor s structure naturally facilitates learning (free periods, accessible and interested teachers, expansive curriculum, the center.) Trevor will challenge you academically. A great place for learning, it is also an inclusive community full of as much intelligence as kindness. Read less

I have to dissent from the positive reviews I've read.
