... Read more every child's name and every child knows they can go to her with any concern they have about anything. As a parent, the curriculum is the by far the best I have ever seen in the system. When you have children coming home and actually talking about what they're learning, to me, is an inspiration. The teachers and entire staff of PSIS 87 are more than dedicated to their positions. There is no 'overcrowded mess' here. Take the time to do some research, and you'll see we're fighting for what we need and deserve. Read less

My children have been attending PS/IS87 since 2001, and I have not one complaint about the Principal, Teachers or Staff.

All children are equal and all children are given respect & in return they show respect to their peers & others.Due to past bureaucracy our school does not have some updated facilities, and is lacking facility space. The reality about PS 87Q is that it has been a PS/IS Pre-K thru 8th grade school for the past 5 years. Ms. Michaeli, Principal is the best thing that ever walked into the arches of this school. Every student is treated with respect, and dignity. She truly cares about each and every student full well

In fact, every parent and staff member has her private cell number in which they can reach at anytime they deem necessary. There isn't a day when a student doesn't walk into her room for a hug or a chat and is welcomed with open arms.....as for an overcrowded mess, we served as the pilot PK-8 school beginning in 2002 and was supposed to get an extension. I think PS/IS87 is a great school because I have been a student in here for 9 years, I am graduating this year. I think that almost everything the principal and the teachers have to offer is great. The teachers care about the education of the students and the safety is extremely well. All the students

Many times I don't know what they are doing and the homeworks sometimes are confusing. No updates are offer to the parents on this and when I send notes to the teacher she barely answers them. Advanced Placement
