... Read more diverse student body, and a very strong after school program (there's like 12 choices plus a robotics team!). I also love the language program -- K - 3 get Mandarin Chinese, 4 - 6 get French, and the 7+ get a choice of Spanish or French. One more thing -- the teachers are awesome. They are friendly, skilled, and really care about the students. Overall, this school represents a real unique opportunity and you should definitely consider joining this community! Read less

This informed awareness of the individual student is Garden's strength and a fine reason to be part of this terrific community. Every school has issues nothing is ever perfect but the downside of the Garden School (facilities are in need of updating, the over worked administration sometimes does not move fast enough) is small compared to the upside (great teachers, extremely diverse student population, small classes, great education, children who are very comfortable speaking with adults). I guess if you compare Garden with the local public schools you might think it's a better choice. Compare it to any other independent school and you will quickly see that what is happening there is shameful (and potentially laughable) if it weren't happening at the expense of our children. Think twice and look carefully before erolling your child. The results to your child's education could be irreparable. Read less

Garden encourages students to be free-thinkers. Children are respected and heard. There's a lot of freedom in this school, but there's also accountabilty and ownership. Your child will grow as a human being in this school and will learn to make the right decisions for her future.

I have two children who attend this school. I am very impressed with faculty and with how much my children are learning. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School

Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
