... Read more is no late bus provided. The school also has a very lacking music program. All that is taught is the recorder. In the math curriculum, the students are not taught everything in one course, however, they are taught concepts that they don't need until future years. The science program is also very over-simplified, causing the students to misunderstand what is written in their textbooks. However, the staff is very nice and supportive of every child's needs. But overall, I find this school to be lacking in many critical areas. Read less

It's theoretically a wonderful idea for an extremely under served group of children in todays school system. Unfortunately, they miss the mark in many areas. The reading and writing program is so weak and outdated. The overall program is way too 'rote' in it's methodology. It lacks severely in creativity
... Read more and enrichment. The constant skipping leaves holes in basic foundations necessary. Many parents have their children tutored to fill in the lacking areas. My daughter has been in the school for several years. She has loved every single minute of it. She has close friends, loves her teachers and comes home with a smile on her face. I think the school does a good job of challenging kids that otherwise would be painfully bored in a traditional setting.
... Read more The best part of the school is how normal the kids feel, by simply being around other kids just like them. Strong academics, kind teachers, an administration that is trying hard to become more 'gentle' and approachable = a great school for the under served gifted child. Read less

The school is like by my child who has attended this school for many years. Overall the school is doing a good not great job. Courses are at best partly challenging but really not that difficult since my child is a A student. I do however feel that my child has developed a good friends and has grow perhaps
... Read more into a great test taker. I would welcome more courses and extra activities other than academics for its students. Also a less hostile environment for its parents who disagree with Administration who don't not take criticizing anything about its school well. Read less

Students are placed in classes based on ability. The Curriculum is challenging, but needs to be up-dated. Severely lacking is outdoor play, a decent music program, the recorder is it. Reading music is out. A free thinking art program would be liberating as well. There are no clubs, or extracurricular

The academic curriculum is challenging and the environment is one of positive peer pressure. This school caters to the the best and the brightest, but sometimes the intellectual capacity of the kids makes the teachers forget that they are still-developing kids.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. Before/After School

A school or program within a school that provides services and training to students with moderate to severe mental and/or physical disabilities.
Adult Education Classes
Programs offering GED or equivalent courses for adults within regular schools, whether classes are held during evening or daytime schedules.
English as Second Language
English language classes for students whose first language is not English.
