overall i would say it is a dissapointment. the teachers are okay but i find that they lack experiance and have very little patience with children that struggle academically. the staff is not the easiest to deal with when problems arise.

Bretton Woods is an excellent school. Its teachers are well trained and educated. The school has expectations so that the students will be in good standing with the rest of the nation. I believe that parents should applaud their child's efforts and address their behavior when needed to.

I would only recommend this school if your child is above average in academics. Out of the mouths of more than 1 teacher 'Hauppauge has very high expectations'. My son needs help with reading and they only accept so many kids for 1 on 1 help. I've been told by others my other son is above average. He

... Read more a mother, need to be more nurturing and remember that all children are unique individuals and that kids are kids in the end. There is not always a reason for why they do what they do. I also feel that threatening to suspend a child in Kindergarden is ridiculous and unheard of. I hope things will change. Read less

... Read more music classes which some districts have cut back/out. I agree that the Principal needs to get out of his office more and see what is going on outside the doors. What would I change? ... Read more undergone some renovations and I feel is well equiped to handle the kids. The security that you have to go through (showing your ID) to pick up your child is great and I have no problem with the staff. I work full time and my child also attends the before and after school program (SCOPE). This environment has friendly staff where home work can be done along with many other activities they provide. I would recommend Bretton Woods Elementary to anyone. Keep up the good work! Read less

Advanced Placement
