I have been a parent of 2 so far that have gone thru GHS doors and although they have great classes to offer the security is less than deplorable. A nice new school basically and no security at all. We parents need to get together to get some protection for our children.

Gloversville High School has a great program for college bound students. More than surrounding area schools. It has numerous classes that are accepted at many colleges. Specificaly: SUNY Albany & Syracuse University. One of my sons transferred 32 credits from GHS when he went to college. The other son ...  Read more

Gloversville High School is a good place to send your kids, if you live in Gloversville. Sports are a big deal there, especially football, mens soccer and mens basketball. The school has a high leve of school spirt, and most of all the kids graduate with regents diplomas.

Gloversville schools have a lot of different extracurricular programs for any type of student, ranging from music (chorus and band) to all different sports teams. * In 2007-2008 New York used the New York State Regents Examinations to test high school students in English language arts, math, global history and geography, US history and government, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics and several foreign languages. The results for English language arts, math, living environment, chemistry, earth science, physics, global history and geography, and US history and government are displayed in GreatSchools profiles. Students must take at least five Regents Exams in order to graduate. Scores of 65 and above are passing; scores of 55 and above earn credit toward a local diploma (with the approval of the local board of education). The goal is for all students to pass the tests.
