Wonderful school. Some amazing teachers--very dedicated and spirited staff. They are always there for extra-help, guidance and support. As my first child went through the school system, I didn't know what to expect. They put him on the advanced track and told us to stay the course. They were right.
... Read more He is now in an excellent university, performing high. My other child is doing great, having a wonderful experience and gets all the support, help and attention he could possibly need. Plenty of sports, extracurriculars and community-minded activity groups to teach the children about giving back. I could not have expected anything more for my children. Read less

In my child's previous school she was in advanced classes. At FPMH she was put in regular classes, when i questioned this I was told wouldn't you rather her be the top of this class then at the lower end of the advanced class. I definately do not feel she is being challenged enough. I know she can

I have 2 students in the school and I feel they both are doing very well. One has been in regents classes and has had a consultant teacher, who has been with him for all the years there and one is in advanced classes and has the support of her teachers. I feel they are both getting what they need and

This school is very great. As a current student it is challenging. Most of the teachers are great and work with you to help you. There are some other teachers that just lecture the class and give them homework. Its nice that most of the teachers use powerpoint in the class room and involve the computer
... Read more in class everyday. The guidance staff is great. I had to get my schedule changed 3 times this year because of my class selection. She was very understanding and fix the problem right there and then. It might be hard not to fall through the crack. Some teachers will let you do your own thing and only care if you fail and there are some that want you to do good. Teachers often tell them to come after school, before school, during lunch and study hall periods if you are having problems. Read less

... Read more several selective, audition-only groups. The advanced courses are taught by exceptional teachers - the teachers of lower level courses vary in their quality. The school is safe and can give wonderful education if your child decides to take the right classes (usually AP) and works hard. Read less

Be careful -- my child was an excellent student at JLCS, and this school let them fall between the cracks. They have a policy of shifting all responsibility -- ALL -- to the student and parent. No accountability in the structure of the administration. Take my warning.

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course. AP classes are specific and not to be confused with other higher-level classes such as honors classes.
Before/After School
