Wonderful school with an ethnically diverse student body (that almost identically mimics the overall racial rates in NYC). We have transferred our child here from another school in the neighborhood where a lot of the parents that live in the P.S. 90's zone try to send their kids to (primarily because

The principal, Ms. Chen does a truly amazing job, doing everything possible to make sure that every child get the attention and the help/encouragement that he/she needs. Kids get to go play outside during the recess. There is an after school program where kids stay until 5 PM. This school is a best hidden secret of the neighborhood! Read less

I loved my sons 4th grade teacher last year. He was new but very caring. He kept such close contact with me and always let me know how my son was doing both academically and behavior which was not always the best. The behavior in the school has a lot of improvment needed all over the school. No serious

In addition, the Principal tries very hard to create a healthy learning atmosphere in which teachers, parents and students interact and get to know each other with respect, sensitivity and understanding. I feel that P.S. 90 is the best elementary school in Brooklyn. I enjoyed attending 90 from 2nd grade in 1973. My daughter who is a Physcian's Assistant at C.I. Hospital as well as her two children thrived at 90 and I am sadden that both my grandchildren have completed. I really wish that they could

The teacher quality is good, but many of the teachers scream at the children too much. The coordinator who 'greets' parents and children at the front door each morning is unprofessional. I have overheard how rude she can be to parents who escort their child a bit too far into the entrance without having a pass. You don't get the feeling that the school has an open door policy.
