My son just started k there and his transition was wonderful. He wants to go every day. He is very excellerated and they are creating a special program for him. The fact that the staff has the time, resources and forcus to do this is amazing.

My child is going into 2nd grade this yr & I also graduated from this school in the 80's. He was accepted through the magnet program last yr and that was the best choice I could have ever made. The education he is receiving there is worth the commute from Williamsburg to Greenpoint everyday. It is rare
... Read more these days to get this kind of quality education especially from a public school. The same standards that they held when I was a student still apply. I was a little concerned on how my son with deal with the intense academics & lack of recreation but I know education is the most important. He has done fine & is thriving. He is joining the chess club & they have now converted the school yard to include chess tables/jungle gyms/etc & it really looks wonderful. Read less

I can't imagine a parent complaining about any aspect of p.S.31. The school is amazing, so are the teachers and the principal. Ms. Scarlato is always there for the parents and children. She is warm,inviting and professional. I don't think i've seen happier kids in a school building. When my father asked me what school I was going to send my daughter to. Being a product of Catholic school, I told him 'Catholic, of course.' But a year before she was to enter school, I read a newspaper article about the quality of education offered at P.S. 31. I was very impressed with what I read
... Read more and didn't hesitate to send her there. I'm glad I did and didn't hesitate to send my other children there also. I've always found Ms. Scarlato to be very friendly and approachable if I had a question, problem or issue of any kind. I wish the school was able to go to high school. I know many other parents feel the same. Ms. Scarlato deserves to be admired for her hard work and dedication to the children and school. I do miss P.S. 31 and so do my children. Read less

Everyone that works under the supervision of the principal cares about the personal well-being of each of their students academically and socially. PS 31 is a very good school. I have a daughter that attends the school and she loves going to school. The principal is always available for parents to get in contact with. Anytime I need to speak to her she always has time. I am going to miss this school. This school is wonderful !

Advanced Placement
