My daughter just began attending this school this year. Due to the fact that she came mid year she was placed in a class that had serious discipline problems. Some staff members tried to work with the class while others just did not give them the same educational opportunities that they gave the other

I sent my daughter (valedictorian of PS 309 class of 2006) to PS 308 with high hopes. I now realize my assessment of 308 was based on their 'former' glory. 308's adminstration is oblivious and unprepared to deal oblivious to the student's and the school's needs. The principal and asst principal are figureheads who do nothing substantial for the student's education. If you want to call yourself an Academy - then act like one. Do what you must to get proper funding to give these students the education they deserve. Or stop mishandling the funds! They're more concerned with 100% uniform policy, policing the color of the students' sneakers and hoodies than real issues regarding student education! Read less

I am just as disappointed as the other parent. I transferred my child into this school due to the negative influences and because he was further advanced than the rest of his classmates. Clara Cardwell does not seem to be any different. They put on a good face but what is underneath is oversized classes

I am thoroughly disappointed with this school. Dismissal is absolutely and complete chaos. There is not adequate space in the afterschool programs to accommodate students. Although this is supposed to be a 'Gifted & Talented' school, it appears as though once the students pass grade 5, they are lost.

In most cases, I've found that the teachers lack general concern for the well-being of the students as individuals; thus this has created an unnurturing and hostile atmosphere that is reflected in the testing scores and attitudes of the children and their parents. In my opinion and experience,308 has been a big disappointment.What used to be a family oriented, learning environment for 'gifted' students has turned into a big 'daycare'. Advanced Placement
