My son has been attending PS 176 since Kindergarten and is now almost done with the third grade. In my opinion there is no better school for your child than 176. The teachers are incredible and my son has had 4 amazing teachers. They care about their students as if their own. The school hallways

Yes, the school is crowded, but all of the teachers, aids, staff and security guards know the kids by name and they really look out for them. Ms. Culkin, the principal of 176 is a wonderful principal. She goes by the book but is sooo involved with everything that goes on with the school as well as the kids. ... Read more attention the children receive at this school. Pricipal Elizabeth Culkin is a wonderful woman who is sincerely concerned with the welfare of the kids and is very hands-on. I've seen her performing crossing guard duties on a couple of mornings greeting the parents as they arrive. She sets a level of performance that all of her staff rise to. My daugher was enrolled at PS176 for Delta K and Delta1st Grades. We had to leave because my younger daughter was accepted into the Delta program, in my zoned school. So we moved my daughter that was currently enrolled in 176 to my second daughter's school so they would be together. While I am pleased
... Read more with the current school; I miss PS176. Mrs. Mule really gets these children to read and do two digit math in her class -- before January! Mrs. Mule stretched the teaching environment every day. And for Ms. Vento, she is also wonderful. My daughter's writing was brought to another level with her. Ms. Vento's concerned for her 'children' came across every day. Ms. Culkin, the pricipal, was a terrific leader. Always felt comfortable speaking to her. The PTA, was incredible. Very involved with so many wonderful activities for the students. Their Violin Program is awesome. Read less

Advanced Placement
