My child has been here for three years (now in the third grade) and we are not satisfied with the school. Our experience here has not been good. My child was diagnosis with a learning disability during 1st grade(caught by her 1st grade teacher @ CPCS). CPCS has tried to develop programs to accomodate
... Read more children with learning diabilities but in my opnion it has been to no avail. This school has several disadvantages ; 1) Only 2 classes are offered per grade, 2) there is a high turnover of teachers in the lower grades(no consistancy), 3) I.E.P.'s are not fully complied, some teachers are inexperienced and therefore allow room for many errors. We have been very patient and give credit to those few who have been helpful but overall we give this school a thumbs down . Children who are in the top of the class and very independent may survive. I agree with the current reveiw. I am giving them one more year, although my child is begging to be out now. It is correct about the parent clique. Even some of the teachers are falling into that trap. If you show up everyday and sit in the school, then your child is in the top rank of treatment. If

Now since we are renting space in one this coming year, I am interested to see how this all pans out. Again, good luck if you plan to send your little one here. Also, the curriculum is not that tight. Get to work CPCS! Read less

If your child needs a structured setting this is not the school for you. My child has attended since the inception of the school. We choose this school because we thought that there would be smaller classes with more teacher attention for the students. To our dismay, the teachers are young and mostly

We stayed on board because we were hoping that the climate would become one of learning, however, they are still experiencing many growing pains. The site of the school was not in the conventional school setting, they rented space in a commercial/residential space. This coming year they have rented space within a NYC Public School. I say good luck to anyone who does not have time to participate in the 'Parent Cliques' that are thriving within the PTA, if they don't see you on a regular basis, then your child will recieve less than favorable treatment. Again good luck if you are sending your child to this school. Read less
