I go to SFX and I have heard from my friends that this school hurts other schools feelings. They told me that in a cheerleading competition, they saw their coach telling them the moves and stuff while my friends train for more than 6 hours a week. They do not teach good there. My BFF always failed her

I go to OLA school, in fact right now I'm going into the 6th grade. I've been to OLA since Pre-K my grades are going higher and higher every week. I would definently suggest OLA to any parent who wants their child to have high grades and maybe even be on the honor roll. OLA will prepare your child for

i also feel the need to address the post from june 12th. her comments are so far from the truth it made me sick to my stomach. Let me tell you about that parent. You know the type that when she volunteers for a function only helps her child. actually sat down and help her, not caring about any body elses
... Read more child. Then being a lunch mother, well that didnt work out to good either. Then bullying who was the bully. oh course not her child. Please i pity the school that her daughter is now with. not because of the child its the MOTHER. they will soon see what we all here at O.L.A. know. Too bad she didnt need a reference. I say good riddens to bad rubbish. I will always be proud of being part of the ola school, parent guild, and parish. I don't feel the need to defend my fellow board members, we do all the things we do not because we have to, its because we want to and that is why we are so successful. Read less

I feel compelled to write a rebuttal to the last post . My children have been at OLA for the past 4 years. I have found it to be a wonderful environment for academics as well as being very family oriented. The teachers are "seasoned" and although the classes are a bit large, my children have thrived.
... Read more As for the Parent Guild, they do so much for the children and they are a terrific group of people who work very hard and volunteer many hours of their time for all of the school children. Take a look at the pictures on the website and you will see happy faces on "all" children. As for the Principal, he is a no-nonsense kind of guy --- which he has to be, especially when dealing with relentess parents who never want to take responsibility for their own children's behavior! And, although I do not know too much about the lunch supervisor, I find it hard to believe she is "screaming and yelling" all the time. I just hope that the parent who posted the negative comments will let her children be happy and thrive at St. Benedicts! Read less

Bullied by Faculity, Principal & Pastors! Been at OLA for years- had an issue, approached principal who agreed it was important & serious however he ignored it because he was afraid to approach the teachers & kids because some were of Parent Guild status. The PG runs the school, only their kids count.
... Read more Every activity, involvement, gathering, event- the PG kids & are on top, look at their website, all you see are pictures of PG kids! Its supposed to be 2yrs, then your done, but not this crew! They just move eachother around! Its been the same parents for years! He wont displine teachers because they've been there so many years- however yelling & degrading children in front of class is not accectable, favoring PG kids is not fair. Its like a Military school! YELLING! Esp the Lunch Supervisor/PreK assistant! She is known & witnessed by ALL the lunch aides actually SCREAMing at & PULLing tiny 3&4 yr olds ALL the time!! If you tell you get shunned out! So no one says anything! She does it to this age bc they cant express themselves, she gets away with it- They ALL do! Even the Pastor ignored it when told- he knew it yet shunned it! Teachers need to RETIRE! Unmarried & no kids=No patience! Read less

I am very pleased with Education my child receives at OLA. Yes there is a lot of homework at times but overall you cant be the education and the sense of family. Since it is a small school I feel every one looks out for each others children. I also like the the teachers and staff know your child's

2010 Blue Ribbon School! That tells you something about the school right off the bat. The school has a tough but fair principal. The Pre-K to kindergarten program is very advanced and a decent number of parents are involved with their child's education. Small class sizes too. With a solid foundation
... Read more like this it's not hard to see why OLA earned the Blue Ribbon designation. Ms. Feeney has done a tremendous job turning around this school. I hope she never leaves us. Our child just turned 5 is reading all on her own. The way she processes information and makes a decision is also very impressive and I credit OLA for that. Take a serious look at this school if you want a solid education for your child. Read less

As a parent i am wondering how much teaching is actually done in the classroom. The amount of homework my child comes home with makes it hard to stay involved in extr-curricular activities. Children should have free time to do things other than school work. It also seems that some rules are overlooked
