if yo are looking for a school were your child can feel safe from bullying and are looking for teachers who actually care and will give as much one on one time that he or she may need to give them the confidence to do the task at hand. A child has feel safe and have confidence for them to learn and gain knowledge First Good Shepard is the best elementary school in all of Las Vegas

I'm not impressed. This preschool is unorganized and not concerned with academics.

My wife and I currently have our 3rd child in FGS, we absolutely love the school. FGS is a small school with only one class per grade level, this has given all of my children a well rounded education due to the varying teaching styles of each individual teacher. The principal is extremely approachable, as is the entire staff. Parents are encouraged to deal with the teacher first, as it should be, and then, if they still have an issue, to bring it to the principal or vice-principal. I have sat in his office and discussed concerns with him on several occasions, sometimes I have seen changes in my favor and other times I have not. That is life, deal with it. Regardless of the outcome, I have never felt like I was just being "handled" to get me to go away. The staff at the school is fair, firm and consistent. As a parent, I am not foolish enough to think that my child could not have a disciplinary issue that may need to be addressed or a performance issue that may need to be handled. I encourage any individual reading these reviews to take into account that the overall rating is 5 stars. This school is a loving, caring and nurturing environment. Come tour our campus and see.

this school is amazing I would highly recommend it over other private schools I love it

I have both a pre-schooler and elementary child here for the last year and I have been satisfied with the following: Pre-School: great teachers, great admin, warm and caring environment, well paced education (teaches to the child rather than to great expectations) child loves being there; however, if your child is an intellectual powerhouse already at age 3, this school is NOT for you. It is emotionally conscious, but not for parents looking for a academic rigors. Elementary: no bullying is tolerated, admin and teachers do a great job of maintaining awareness of this issue. My child's first day of school, EVERYBODY knew his name, teachers greeted him like an old friend, and they had a gift bag ready for him. He felt loved and was ready to connect with the school that week. Academics is traditional, nothing innovative or aggressive, but that's not as important to me as my child's emotional well being which is much harder to fulfill than academic excellence. To compensate for this, he skipped a grade, but did not experience the "loneliness" most kids in his situation feel when they jump a grade. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for parents who care about emotional well being.
