Turns out he said a few things and then showed her her first class and just left. She ended up being put into the lunch hour that is the fullest and she knew no one (duh) and her teacher before lunch didn't ask if someone would show her around or have lunch with her. TERRIBLE procedure for new students, principal needs to do more, pathetic. Read less

Though I only attended Miller for the second semester of my eighth grade, I have to say I was terribly disappointed with the school. My parents chose our house around the schools that were best, and though Miller had good promises, it just didn't live up. Most of my teachers were intelligent, yes,
... Read more but they either didn't know how to control a class or didn't know how to properly teach us. The PE was pathetic, the leadership class doing hardly anything and the lunch - or rather 'crazed feeding time', as I refered to it - was a badly organized mess. All they do is praise the above average students and forget about the average ones or the ones who are in average - what they call in a morally degrading term 'Developmental' - classes. As a parent of a sixth grader at Miller, I only have positive things to say. The technology/library at the school are amazing, with teachers being well educated in their use...can't say enough about that Mr. Hensley, the information specialist. Kids at this school are pushed to join music programs,

Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level. Once a student completes an AP class and passes a final comprehensive examination conducted by the College Board, the student earns college credit for the course.
