Read what parents are saying about Desert Montessori SchoolReally wonderful directors, faculty and parent community. We looked at all the private and some public schools in Santa Fe and are so happy with Desert Montessori. Our child is in third grade and is thriving. Loves to go school, is challenged academically, and also has made great friends. Fabulous art and music program too.
Posted by a parent on 1/26/2018DMS is a great school with amazing staff and teachers. My daughters loves going to school and I feel confident that she is learning and excelling.
Posted by a parent on 5/15/2014I moved my daughter to Desert when she started 4th grade because I was convinced that she would be offered a better educational and social/emotional experience than she would get at her current school. I was not disappointed. Her academic abilities began to blossom under the care of her teachers. The high academic standards and the creativity brought to the classroom create a climate of success. This, in turn, fostered a new sense of pride and accomplishment in my daughter. My only regret is not starting her at Desert Montessori when she was in preschool.
Posted by a parent on 1/12/2012We've had two kids at DMS since 2006 and we love it! The kids get individualized attention and are held to high standards.
Posted by a parent on 12/11/2011We have two boys at Desert Montessori, and we've been absolutely satisfied with the school from the first day. Our second grader is in a classroom that supports his interests, provides an exciting and stimulating environment, and pays special attention to who he is as an individual. Our younger son is in a preschool classroom where he is nurtured, stimulated, and encouraged to thrive. We couldn't be happier with the education our boys have received, and we're looking forward to continuing our educational journey at this school through 6th grade for both kids. We've also been really happy with the other families at the school, and have had the opportunity to form lasting friendships with those families. Desert is a good place, with good people, and an excellent education.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school I believe does not want to listen to the parents about how the teachers conduct and integrity is lacking. The Nurse is mazing and the Kindergarten and 1st grade homeroom teachers are great. But the Principal, secretary and the PE teacher have issues that for as a parent is concerning. I may transfer my child to another school.Parent Review2y ago - Kearny Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe worst experience. There is no structure at Kearney elementary. My daughter was continually bullied, the principal does not take the issue of bullying seriously. I didn't feel like my kids were safe here. Moved them mid year and they are already thriving at their new school, test scores have gone up and they have learned so much in less than a month.Parent Review4y ago - Ramirez Thomas Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have never experienced the luxury of the a school such as this one. The teachers put more investment into each and every child to an extent I have never seen. Having two kids and moved a few times in only the four years of my kids lives, I have seen: Daycare's that declare they have agendas that seem fitting and appropriate. Early Childhood centers that claim they are giving my children exactly what they need. Chain Daycares that have excellent reviews... I thought I saw it all until my child was accepted into Rio Grande. I was blown away at what this school offered. The teachers kept me in touch with every small accomplishment and helped with the struggles. There was no detail left unsaid. I assumed all early childhood places declared promises that would never be met - I was very wrong! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the teachers, the administration and entire school was just as invested in my child as I was.I can say with full confidence that this is the most solid foundation one could ever get for their child. My child wants to go to school every day - and now easily lets me start my day with a happy heart.Parent Review7y ago - Desert Montessori School
