Special education services are and will be offered at Hillerman. The previous writer has been misinformed. The principal who has been selected will do an great job and has been in the education field for several years. She is highly qualified or else she would not have been selected.

This school has ruined my 3 kids! They are now in another school district, and boy what a night and day difference. They all actually love school and are making great grades. James Monroe needs to learn how to focus on teaching, not worrying about missing buttons on shirts!

I was formally a student at this school. I absolutley loved it! The school has high expectations as for discipline! And as for the dress code, yes it is very strict but have you seen how some teens dress? Public schools do there best and James Monroe does excedingly well!

My daughter is in her second year at James Monroe and she has no problems at all. She has teachers that truly care. I have no problem getting in touch with her teachers when I need to. I was very concerned about the overcrowding, and the dress code did seem a little overboard. I do think the dress ...  Read more

My daughter started school there in the middle of 2006, because we had moved to New Mexico from California in the middle of the school year. The administrative staff had a student walk her to her classes and they were extremely kind and sensitive to her situation. I think the teachers challenge the ...  Read more

JMMS is quite overcrowded, not due to lack of attempts to try to remedy the situation by APS. The parents on the westside are all yelling about the overcrowding and poor quality of education and JMMS, but when the rubber meets the road, they are unwilling to have a boundary change that may affect their ...  Read more
