Read what parents are saying about Pioneer AcademyMy two kids attending Pioneer Academy and we all love it. Dedicated stuff, strong curriculum, professional teachers and perfect facility. I recommend to everyone who is looking for good education, diverse and safe environment. Great activities, clubs and after school programs.
Posted by a parent on 5/16/2023Pioneer Academy is a great private school. It offers not only a challenging but also a supportive and diverse learning environment embellished with a variety of clubs, activities and field trips. The staff is is also diligent, very solution oriented, which is not easy to find everywhere else. I have two kids in both levels, lower and upper school. I can confidently say that they have their chances to thrive and reach to their fullest potential. My kids are happy I’m happy, it’s a great school all in all.
Posted by a parent on 5/9/2023Last year I have 2 kids in pioneer, Elementary and Middle. It was our first year with them. All the stuff ( in the office, teachers even the elective or PE , music, Art , nurse office ) they never ignore one email from the thousands I sent to them, always professional, I love how they deal with the Covied pandemic, they really succeed to keep everyone safe and also learn at the same time. They also was perfect with the online school time. I love how they deal with new students to fit in quickly especially for older age. This year I have also my son in High School, I love how they make him busy with projects and working and in the same time love what he is doing and feel challenging. So not even one complain from me or my kids. I got a lot more than What I paid for. Thanks pioneer.
Posted by a parent on 11/23/2021My son has attended Pioneer Academy since he was in 5th grade. We travelled from Europe and I thought he might have some difficulties to adapt and blend in. Thanks to the Pioneer Academy dedicated and Professional Middle School Team he had no struggle at all. Pioneer Academy was able to manage the diversity of the student body and they build and reflect tolerance and respect between students. My son is now in 9th grade and attending Pioneer Academy. When teachers welcome students, everyone in the class welcomes each other. They form a great connection between teachers and students. This connection reflects students' quality. Since they love and respect their teachers they are very open to their tasks. Although I have seen my son complain about the HW loads he never misses any HW since the teachers were able to convince them it was necessary to learn and to become an intellectual person. I thank all Pioneer Academy Staff and Admin but particularly to the Middle school team.
Posted by a parent on 8/18/2021Promising, Safe Environment, Academically Sound!!! Personally, I worked in a lot of schools in many countries. The words are not sufficient to express my experience in Pioneer Academy. The school is quite phenomenal in terms of College Acceptances. One of most exciting developments is The new basketball program which is coordinated by Tim Thomas, a former NBA Player. School is advancing with strong steps to achieve to be the best K_12 school in New Jersey.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFirst of all their enrollment is so low (many kids drop out after joining for one year). So kids make friends for a year & then there is a completely different class next year with 90% new students. Second, most of the kids in the school from 2nd grade to 8th grade are students of staff members (who work as teachers in the school), and their class average is 5-6 kids in each grade (so do the math – most of those are kids of faculty). The school is run completely by the vice principal because the principal is a veteran who owns the school & at this time is not involved with anything. There are no extra-curricular activities apart from a track team which literally uses the side walk at the front of the building to train kids. The vice principal claimed when we joined the school that we teach two other languages, Spanish & Mandarin to all kids. Not even once in two years my son learnt both languages at the same time. It was either spanish or mandarin & sometimes none because if their mandarin or spanish teacher goes on leave, then they have no back-ups. They will teach Spanish, then randomly start Mandarin & keep on switching based on teacher’s availabilities. Here is when it all fell apart for us - We went on a one week trip and I informed the teachers in advance that we were going on vacation & when my son went back to school, they took 3 exams on the first day he was back in school. They are so incourateous that not only did they try to teach one week worth of material to my son in one day, but then also took 3 exams the same day. This is fundamentally wrong & truly messed up. Talk about giving your child mental stress in school. When I reached out to the teachers & Vice principal, they kept on saying – “oh look at his scores, he did well”. My whole feedback was that you should have sent the study guides home so I could prepare my son for the tests. When I talked directly to the vice principal, she cut me off while I was explaining the situation, was completely defensive & absolutely rude on the call and SHE HUNG UP ON ME. The vice principal had no interest in listening to me, or taking any feedback. Don’t waste your money & don’t sacrifice your child’s mental state by sending them to this school. FYI - Most other reviews on websites are given by staff members whose kids go to this school. Teachers are not good either.Parent Review11mo ago - Rock Brook School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school does not even hire teachers that are special ed certified. Their postings on ideed indicate that you may be "interested" in pursuing a certificate in special ed to apply. Really? Work hands-on with students without being certified. This is why this school is garbage and does not actually help any child make progress and succeed. How awful. They charge the sending district a fortune and a half and won't even hire certified teachers so that they could pay them less. DisGusTing!!!Parent Review7mo ago - St Anthony School
