Constance Fugere is the Principal at this school. She is so supportive of all the students that attend GJM. Our 6 year old has had some difficulties with learning at his grade level. We had many concerns about his moving into 1st grade. She took the time to meet with my husband and I several times. She

The George J. Mitchell Elementary School located in Little Egg Harbor Township is one of few that offer a free half day pre-school program and full day kindergarten.(Even though the pre-school program is privatly funded through Medallion, it is a benefit to offer students this wonderful start in education.)

She is dedicated and motivated to make sure that all of her colleagues are prepared to have each student perform to his/her best ability. It is believed that learning and laughter are the rule and work together. The school is clean,the teachers are dedicated,qualified and happy to be at school. GJM School has been the most positive experience I have ever had. My son has made tremendous progress thanks to the Summer Academy, all the teachers he has had and Constance Fugere. He has been in GJM since preschool and is now in 2nd grade and still loves to go to school. Thank you everyone.

my son is in the first grade. He is given homework that a preschooler could do. They are not challenging him at all. I am very disappointed with the curriculum! Most of the homework is either multiple choice, fill in the blank or matching. It never takes him more than 40 seconds to complete. I don't
... Read more want busy work for him either. I would like however, to see homework that challenges his thinking. For example: writing a 3 - 5 sentence composition or writing complete sentences for spelling words. Math is a joke. Maybe once every other week we will see a ditto on Math. It is definitely a weak curriculum! The school also lacks creative after school programs for the children. They offered two this year for about two month. Unfortunately,their schedules conflict and subsequently your child could only choose one. Read less

My son has been in this school for Pre-k and now 1st grade. We had moved into the town next to LEH , Tuckerton , and went to that school for kindergarten and I hated it. George Mitchel has more students but seems to be able to give more one-on-one to students and parents.

Advanced Placement
