Copeland has exceeded my expectations and I couldn't be happier with the teachers and administration. I agree with the other parents that most of the kids can be rude and/or self centered. But perhaps that happens at all middle schools as mean behavior is usually caused by low self-esteem which is

I have been involved in many teacher-parent activities. CMS teachers are enthusiastic + most truly like teaching MS students. Children are encouraged to go beyond their groups of friends to explore different activities + clubs. The handbook has clear guidelines for behavior + consequences are enforced.

But some don't...especially on the bus. Kids at this age tend to pass off unkind remarks as 'just kidding around' + say they 'don't mean it'. I have tried to let my children know that this also happened when I was in MS + HS. Too bad some kids feel they need to put others down. Finding your own friends is important...and making good decisions to associate with people of similar values will assure their success. Read less
