Piscataway High School was fun. I am currently a Business MIS major at Rowan University. I lived in Piscataway all my life and spent all my four years of high school, at PHS. I enjoyed the teachers. Some were annoying and some didn't care to help, but the teacher I had were amazing. The diversity there

tPHS keeps on giving in high school and after graduation. Different improvements, year to year for each young woman and man. Changes occur, due to the many great teachers who care beyond the courses, activities and currculum. The students learn for life in the subject. The teachers get to know their

There are many life lessons at PHS, and my children experienced the most signifiant one: comfort and respect for people from all walks of life, and around the globe. ... Read more particularly the music, band, and, sports programs. We are very involved parents, which is also key to any child succeeding in school. PHSprovides a diverse, dynamic, environment. The real world is diverse, and, a school like Piscataway HS prepares them to thrive and succeed in a real, diverse world and working environment, giving them a competitive edge. With few exceptions we found the teachers very good, well educated, and, progressive. School, like life, is also what you make it. Despite being an honors student, I can't help but notice the short comings of our school. First, it's the school board. They're more concerned about redistricting students in the elementary/middle schools to get an equilibrium of ethnicity than in improving the quality of curriculum throughout all schools.
... Read more Even more, they might as well hire some new teachers, responsible ones. Honestly, some of the teachers in our school are just jokes. I've been lucky to get rather challenging ones in my honors courses, which I enjoy, but I can't help but notice how unfair it is when another honors teacher teaching the same course is at least twice as easy. Though I suppose it doesn't matter now that we don't have GPA or class rank? Honestly, they say it's to take away competition, but isn't that the driving factor to success? As a result, the transition to TCNJ for my BA went smoothly; in fact, I ultimately became an English major! Despite several negative comments below regarding PHS, I counteract the spirit by saying, 'You get what you give.' I definitely do NOT regret my time at PHS...not even the dismal year in calculus! I've taught in this district for over 20 years and it has never been run so poorly. The board and the administrators are more concern with keeping their jobs while sitting idle. They are more concern about multi-culturalism than they are about anything else. The teachers do care dispite what many of

... Read more the new administration is trying to crack down and find ways to make the environment better for learning. There are so many extracurricular activities that its hard for someone to say that they can't find something they like. From a Ping-Pong Club to Football, there is something to find there. The music and art problems are excellent. The sports programs are very good as well, having come from one. Parent involvement could be a little higher, but the parents who care about their kid's education are very involved. Read less

Advanced Placement
