This school is a Huge disappointment. I removed my kids from this school. It was a revolving door for principles for many years. The majority of the teachers never even returned phone calls, they were as disillusioned as the students. There was zero direction.

My son attends Morristown highg, as well my husband graduated from Morristown high. Morristown high has worked very hard in impporving the school experience, accademically, socially and extra-curricular. I feel it has a very positive program allowing for all types and races to flourish.

MHS is the one of the very few institutions in Morris county that provides exposure to the real World, where one has to live in diverse cultures. Arts help us in understanding the World and also teach us to appreciate diversity. Unfortunately, it doesn't produce any substance that can feed millions as the innovations do. MHS is an excellent school if your child is competitive and accepts diversity. MHS has too much focus on sports. MHS also has an extensive heritage dating to around 1869 and with an annual Heritage Club induction; students nominate alumni and teachers for their addition to the MHS community. The teachers are outstanding; they will work with students until they understand the topics not only to get a good grade but to comprehend and use the information in the future. Students are able to choose from Advanced Placement and regular courses as well as electives that range from Graphic Arts to International Relations and Practical Politics. It's an excellent school. I have a tenth grader and a sophomore who went through MHS. The staff is very well qualified and very dedicated. There is a vast amount of AP courses offered. * In 2007-2008 New Jersey used the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA) to test students in grade 11 in language arts literacy, math and science. The HSPA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of New Jersey. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
