i am attending irvington high year 2008-09 for the first time and wish to go there again for my senior year of 2010.Many people give my school a bad rep and make it out to be a 'zoo'.it really is not that bad as they make it seem.yes we do have fights and all that stuff but show me a high school full

As a student of the 2012 class of Irvington High School, it's safe for me to say that there are some good programs but bad tends to outweigh the good. Drive through Irvington and you'll see that we are in a bit of a budget crisis and it deeply affects our school's ability to keep us safe and strong academically.
... Read more With all the drama and fights that occur, it's easy to become distracted, skip class, and pass any class as long as you're in class and do half of the assignments given to you. While some teachers allow this to happen, there are also others who geniunely care for us and won't tolerate passing a student just because they're there. All in all, it may be a little over crowded with kids that are prone to fight, I do believe that Irvington High does it's best to educate us. Read less

Irvington High School does have some good programs, it does not always get the attention it deserves. There are some promising students with bright futures attending, its always the bad news that gets highly publisized.

I am a recent graduate of Irvington High School and I say that the school is not that bad. Wherever you go, there will always be teachers & students who dont care one way or another so I dont see why everyone is emphasizing that negavative aspect. The academic & athletic awards plus community service

Instead of looking at the downsides of Irvington High, people should sit back and observe the students who are working hard to succeed academically and also change not only the school but the whole community. I do not believe that the school is as bad as everyone else may think. I attend Irvington Highschool and we are not as wild as people set us out to be, nor is the principle or teachers. The administrators and facutly members of Irvington High try their very best to make our school a better inviorment

Some students choose the wrong path in life and choose to be influenced, but others do not, and do our very best to prove everyone who say we can never make it, very very wrong. I am an ex-student that attended Irvington high about 5 or 6 years ago. The school was bad then, and it is bad now. The only improvement is the addition of metal detectors in the front entrance, instead of only having then in the side doors.The learning envirment is horrible,along with the sanitary condition

Advanced Placement
