9 Parent Reviews for Ford Avenue Elementary School
My son is in second grade, we've been at School 14 since K. Great teachers so far. Class sizes have been fortunately small - 16 this year, 17 last year. The minus -- the AM drop-off situation is a nightmare -- wish the township could get a handle on that. Lots of homework, challenging curriculum,

The teachers are outstanding. They work very hard and are wonderful with the children. Most parents are cooperative and very supportive. Some are always complaining. They worry more about their child getting chocolate milk for lunch than if their child can read. Class trips would be wonderful, but

It is always the same faces working hard at School 14 and it is always the same people complaining, but you never see the complainers supporting the school or the teachers. School 14 has a heart. It is a small school. It is a family. It is a great place to learn and I am proud to be a part of it. Read less

My daughter started attending this school last year, 2010, and expected better. I can say that I'm not pleased w/ the fundraisers. They lack effort in getting the kids to be more involved, but they have fundraisers where they purchase bad and unhealthy foods. What happened to trips, and plays, doing

I agree with everyones complaints that as tax payers we should get much more out of this school. The school is very disorganized. I noticed that from the beginning. I am most bothered by the way the pfg runs their fundraising. I understand that they need as much help from the parents as possible but
... Read more they should be attempting to have more student involvement and do things that we as families will be interested in. Taking the easy route in selling junk foods is a horrible idea and sets a bad example for the kids. Parents are getting turned away from this and want little involvement. I speak for myself and many other moms from this school when I say this school needs fresh, new ideas and people that are more health, body and mind conscious Read less

My children have been attending this school for a few years and it due to the atmosphere, lack of respect shown and the fact that I need to have them go to Sylvan I am putting them in private school this upcoming year. It really makes my husband and I angry that we are paying taxes in this town and

Sadly I have not reported any of these complaints as I do not want my child or myself targeted by the principal but I will voice myself once the school year comes to an end. Until then, I will do what I can to keep an eye on things and hope the remainder of the days go by without without incident. Read less

I am not posting as an individual parent, but as a group of very disappointed moms. At one time this was an amazing school. I can not say the same now. Parents are not welcome into the school, fundraising has gone down dramatically due to lack of volunteers, and even the quality of teachers has changed,

I must unfortunately agree with what was written about this school. The environment in this school had really gone down hill. There have been so many issues with this school that have been ignored and I just do not understand why. I truly wish someone would step in and listen to the parents....and

Last year was my kids first year at Fords elementary. I am pleased to say that they joined a family not just a school. They have a great system of keeping parents informed and involved. The pricipal was always willing to answer my questions in person or on the phone. The PTO welcomed me and appreciated
