I am a recent graduate of BCHS& as far as the other alums are speaking I have no clue where they went to high school but it is not the same place as myself. In high school i took AP and honors courses& had more then 13 extracurriculars, most of which consisted of musical programs. I am now a well rounded ...  Read more

I am a person who worked in this school and seen both the compassionate & rude teachers it holds! I do believe in change but I also believe you must embrace change to move forward! If this school does not hire 'Freedom Writer' style of teachers who have passion and don't quit or exchange ugly for ugly ...  Read more

My junior daughter takes AP courses, plays two varsity sports and scored highly on the SATs. I have no worries about her in college. My 7th grade son has trouble due to his current immaturity. The school expects a lot and has a tendency to write off poor achievers, so it's our job to help him. Fine. ...  Read more

I was a former student and now a parent to an 11th grade student. School have not change over the last 20 years, still the same. Classes are dull and teachers don't care. The only thing going for the school is the Matching Band with Director David May. Stay away from this school or prepare to play ...  Read more

Much better school than statistics show. Competitive extra curricular activities and a wide range of classes offered compared to other group 1 schools.

I attended Burlington City HS and my twin brothers are currently attending. I did well and so are my brothers. I am now a teacher in the district and think that is is wonderful. It is all about the effort you put into it. If your child wants to learn, he or she will learn.

My son graduated from BCHS last year. If it wasn't for the music program I don't know where he would be. He struggles in college because of his poor high school education. Most of the teachers don't care about the students and give a good grade if the student show's up and hands in the work. There ...  Read more

I attended BCHS and have watched it over the past ten years. There are 'some' caring faculty members on the pay roll; however, I was sad to see the science dept. lose good people. Your child will excel at BCHS if you champion them through the Math and Science departments. The self motivated will thrive. ...  Read more

My son is a student at burlington city high school(9th grade.) I find great improvements in the area of homework and overall performance in all required area of school activity. This school, in my opinion, has greatly improved, and should be commended for being one of the best in music/ band.
