Although it is a small school, the faculty, administrators, parents and community rally around each and every child in our school system. Hilary Clinton said that it takes a village to raise a child. Well, we in Bogota's Borough are the epitome of that statement!

My son is a junior in BHS. I am not very happy with the school. I think it is too easy for the children to slack off in their work. My son never comes home with any homework, yet his report card is good. He says he does it in school which means there is not very much work given. The only reason

Hopefully by the time my younger son is ready for high school I can send him to a better school system. I definitely don't think BHS prepares the children for college. Read less

I live in Bogota now and am currently looking to move. The school system is horrible. They do not offer that many sports for children and extra curricular activities either. I went to Bogota High school 12 years ago and since then it has changed even more for the worse.

My child has achieved at the highest academic levels and is being challenged. The district has started to rebound from several years of mismangement and actual imcompetence. The current principal has steadied the ship and has the school moving forward despite being given one of the worst staring points

The music teachers do an incredible job and are models for what can be accomplished. The people who are happy with the system and the results their children have achieved are not nearly vocal enough. The parents involvement is good but probably more to do with the extracurricular activities. Read less

I graduated in 2002 from bogota high school. I agree with the previous reviewer in that bogota high school does not present a challenge for above average students. But remember that is only because teachers can only teach to the 'mean' or the average student. This is the fault of a small school system

That being said there is a much more appropriate school just across the river (bergen academy) and i would question why exactly your daughter did not attend that one? I would say that the teaching quality in recent years has suffered from the losses of several great teachers that possessed outstanding command of their respective subjects. There has been an influx of less experienced teachers which is the product of 1.Poor wages and 2. Apathetic leadership in the town. Read less

If your child is above average academically then this is NOT the school for him/her. There are no advanced placement classes at all, and even honors classes were not very challenging. My daughter, who was valedictorian without much effort, was often frustrated by the slow pace of her classes. On the

I have noticed that there are some wonderful, caring teachers at Bogota, as well as teachers who do little more than assign reading from text books and give tests. However, I know many parents who have chosen private schools due to frustration with the poor academic quality of this high school. Read less
