Northwest is a strong school for academics and athletics. AP classes, Dual Enrollment and good teachers are just some examples of how academics is strong. Northwest is more concerned about the academic achievement then they are about the saftey of the students there. They have fights between students everyday. * In 2007-2008 Nebraska used the School-based Teacher-led Assessment and Reporting System (STARS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in reading and math; in grades 4, 8 and 11 in writing; and in grades 4, 5, 8 and 11 in science. The STARS is a standards-based testing program, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Nebraska.
