I strongly disagree with the previous post regarding academic rigor. My family has been at Charlotte Montessori for 4.5 years, and have experienced both the Toddler and Primary programs. We decided to complete the Primary cycle through Kindergarten and are now in the process of applying for first grade. The feedback from all of our prospective independent schools is glowing: our daughter is reading and demonstrating math skills at or above a first grade level (at 5 years old). She is a confident leader and works well both independently and with others, and she has a sincere and palpable love of learning. I attribute her readiness for elementary school in large part to the phenomenal experience we've had at CharMont. Our younger son is reaping similar benefits even though his innate strengths and personality are different than that of his sister. This school takes each individual child into consideration and tailors the educational experience accordingly. We could not be more pleased to be a part of this community!
