I think overall the education is pretty positive, most teachers are good and fair to students. There are a few that could be weeded out. Leadership there could be improved upon. There are excellent parent volunteers, but behavior problems do exist within the classroom.

i agree with the turn around and need for competent administration that treats all children with the same demeanor. One that teachers will respect and bring innovative learning. One that will give a couple of warnings to bulliies and verbal harrasment to be eliminated from school.

Read more School is hands down the BEST school in Wilmington academically by providing abroad Curriculum (technology, art, music in addition to there core academic classes) all in a very safe and personal environment. All of the teachers are there because they want to teach your children and not because they have too. St. Mark has competed at regional and state level in several areas from math to science to essay writing. They are a strong school with and outstanding Principal for a leader. Read less

This school is the best private school in the Wilmington area. The children are safe and have a broad base of educational subjects, including foreign language and technology skills. The teachers are highly qualified and care about the students. The principal is always available for her students and parents

I now have two children at St. Mark and they are thriving academically and socially. We transferred here from another school last year and the teachers and staff were very helpful with our move. They made our entire family feel welcome. I cannot say enough about the education my children are receiving.

St. Mark has far exceeded my expectations! My child took the SATs in 7th grade and scored 65% better than high school seniors! They must be doing something right! The teachers turn the students into leaders, especially in the Middle School! It's a place where moral standards are set and expected to

After reading the other posts, I wonder if there are 2 St. Mark Schools in Wilmington NC. We transfered out earlier this school year due to severe lacking of leadership and availabilty by the administration. The teachers are great but they have no support from administration and parents run the school
... Read more not the princial no matter how much she proclaims it her school, now that we are out, we have found it has a local reputaion as a country club. I'm thankful we didn't stay and am sorry for the enviornment the children who have still there face. At a recent lunch of former St. Mark Moms, we all reported all kids were happier in theri new schools, public and private. Please do intense research before subjecting your child to this. Read less

St. Mark School has given my child an exceptional experience so far. You have a principal, teachers and staff who know every child by name and who create a very warm, safe environment for education. Walking through the hallways, you notice that the children are engaged, the teachers are actively teaching

Watching the students as they attend weekly mass, you get a wonderful sense of the community we have at St. Mark School. Advanced Placement
AP classes are college-level classes offered at the high school level.
