Rockingham Jr. High was the greatest school I ever attended. I will miss it terribly once I go to Richmond. My 'real' life started there at that very school. I met my best, best, best friends, I met a few enemies, and I met foreign students. It was all a great experience. My teachers all three years

Maybe the parent needs to realize that even though a student may need accommodations, the teachers are still held to the testing standards. I could have placed my children in a private school, but would choose Rockingham Junior High School and the feeder schools over again. Read less

This county insists on holding on to the junior high instead of moving on to the middle school concept. While ninth grade has been a very satisfying experience for my child, seventh and eighth were miserable. The ninth grade teachers have provided a course outline and written expectations which are

There is no uniformity between teachers and it really is just the luck of the draw as to what your child is expected to do. The principal is weak and ineffectual. Children with disabilities often do not receive the accomodations they are entitled to and teachers seem to resent the accomodations that must be made according to an IEP or 504 plan. The music and art faculty are exceptional however. Read less
