This school has an excellent pre-k program with a dedicated staff that really cares about the children. The facilities could be better but when you have a teacher and assistants who love and care so much about your child's education then you can deal with the building.

I have two children who have attended this school from 2005 and presently now in 2008. This is a good school. I really have high praise for their spanish immersion program. ... Read more lanuage because 50% of there class work in done in spanish and 50% is done in english. I was very impressed because there aren't alot of schools that offer this. This school is not perfect which no school is, but if you stay envolved with your childs education, everything else will be provided by the faculty. Read less

We PCS'd away from NC and found out that our son was FAR behind at his new school after having spent a year & a half at Upchurch. The move to Texas was an eye OPENER! He was so far behind that we risked him having to stay back a year! Three weeks into the new school year, I received a call from the school office asking why I haven't sent my daughter to school yet, but she had been there since the first day. This is a fantastic school! Our children attended there for 2 years, and were very happy with it. We were very sad to see Mrs. Burke go though. She was one of those teachers that kids grow up and remember the rest of their lives. My children also loved having Spanish classes! The principal is wonderful

My children attended Upchurch Elementary for at least 4 years. I couldn't ask for a better school. Both of my girls are honor students, now in 7-11 grade. We are a military family and if we could I would be back in Hoke County Schools in a heart beat. Keep doing what you do and you will go far.

Advanced Placement
