The best Wayne County, NC public elementary school. School of Excellence 2004, 2005, 2006. School of Distinction 2007. New Principal began in 2007/2008 school year, Mrs. Theresa Cox who had previously served at Northwest and knows the school well. The school acquired 88 new computers this year

If you ever attend one of the many programs that the children put on each year you will find that the seats fill quickly and there is usually only standing room left if you arrive less than 15 minutes early. Mr. Wingate gives the word Principal a whole new meaning by truly being a PAL to each child. northwest elementary school is a wonderful school. i would recommend it to everyone i know. it is one of the few schools in north carolina that has achieved the school of excellence for the past couple of years. it is unusual for a prinicipal of a school containing almost 700 students to know each one

Advanced Placement
